May I Just Say...

...That Jesus is just absolutely beautiful.  Really.

There was a retreat here at Ave this past weekend, and even though I didn't really go to any of the talks or activities, I did go to Adoration.  The way the Adoration was set up was gorgeous.  It was in the form of the "burning bush" (as they call it) where there is a wooden set up that looks kinda like a pyramid, but on every corner there is a candle.. and in the very center at the very top is Jesus in the monstrance.  For this retreat they had Jesus there exposed for the whole weekend.

Woah.. I just realized that when a priest or someone says that Jesus is "exposed" in the monstrance..He really is exposed.  Just think about that.  When someone is exposed, they are putting themselves out there.. they are being vulnerable to the world around them.  That takes so much courage and could even be dangerous in some circumstances.  But Jesus is just letting Himself be exposed.  He's in a tiny piece of bread, just sitting there.  How much love He must have for us, to let Himself be handled by us, to let Himself be vulnerable with us!  He really is beautiful.

As I said before, the only thing I went to during the retreat was Adoration.  It was so amazing that the second night, I went and just slept there, right next to Jesus.  It was such a beautiful sleep.. I felt Jesus there hugging me, like I was a little child.

Anyway, I guess that's all I wanted to say.. just that Jesus is beautiful.
