Connor proudly walked into the living room with an air of authority and asked me, "Ya like my tie?"
I looked up at him and answered, "Yeah, it looks pretty nice," although it was attached to his t-shirt, and looked quite funny with his ever-so-casual t-shirt and sweat pants.
He then took it off and said to me, "See? I can just clip it on real easy like this," and went on to show me how he could just lift the clip up and put it back down in one easy motion.
"I can even clip it on the back of my shirt... or anywhere else."
Then a second later he turned to me again and said, "How do ya like my earring?"
I just looked at him, laughed, and shook my head. But then, as a clip tie isn't all that comfortable hanging from an ear, Connor decided he should take it off. However, as Connor couldn't see the clip, he wasn't exactly able to remove the tie from his ear. His expression changed from comical authority to certain panic and he ran around the room yelling, "Ow! Owwww! Take it off!! --Caleb MOVE!" (Caleb was standing in Connor's way.) He ran into the kitchen where my mom was and yelled, "Take it off!! Ow!!"
My mom quickly removed the tie from his ear and asked, "Well why would you put that on your ear? You know that would hurt."
To which Connor defensively answered, "It felt good at first." Then he left the room and everyone who had heard or seen the commotion burst out laughing (Connor included :).
